Koei Tecmo has revealed that the latest entry in the Nobunaga’s Ambition series, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, will finally launch in North America.
Nobunaga’s Ambition is a turn-based strategy and historical simulation game by Koei that has been around since 1983. It is set during the Sengoku period of feudal Japan where the player is tasked with achieving the ultimate goal of warlord Oda Nobunaga – the conquest and unification of Japan.
Recently, Koei Tecmo America announced that the seventeenth entry in the series, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, will launch for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, and will be available digitally in North America on July 20th, 2023. In Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening, players assume the position of a feudal lord during the turbulent 16th-century Warring States Period in Japan. In addition to Oda Nobunaga, players may choose from a variety of regional daimyo of the era. As the leader of their own clan, players must make the best decisions in crucial areas such as economics, diplomacy, and military might in order to ultimately unite the nation. In doing so, they will be assisted by retainers, who are AI officers with independent thought and action. The retainers will supply the players with submissions to assist them in planning their battle strategy.
As part of the 40th Anniversary celebration of the series, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening will include various additional features, including landmarks and achievements that will affect the strategy. Furthermore, a vast number of scenarios, events, policies, and more will be included, as well as some elements from previous games.
The Nobunaga’s Ambition series has been around for so many years and has been a true turn-based gaming classic, so it is extremely fascinating to see how the game has evolved over time.
