Omega Strikers just announced that its full release for PC, iOS, Android, and consoles will be delayed due to a change in its roadmap.
Omega Strikers PC Open Beta has been available for months, and now it has been revealed that it will end on January 1st, 2023 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. The full release of Omega Strikers for PC, iOS, Android, and consoles is currently targeted for April 2023. With the game’s full release comes a new ranked season, a battle pass, and significant content additions.
Developer Odyssey Interactive revealed that its action strategy video game, Omega Strikers, will have an incredibly strong roadmap for new features and content. Pushing back to April will allow for enough time to develop and polish these major updates to the game. In a published announcement on the Omega Strikers’ Steam page, Odyssey Interactive detailed the seven upcoming changes to the game, which are as follows:
Goal Barriers
Goal Barriers are new environmental obstacles. These are destructible energy barriers that must be destroyed by the team’s core before the goal gates may be opened. Since they must be broken down piece-by-piece, the arena gets re-shaped and broken down in different ways over the course of each round.
Core Flip
The Core Flip will be a new action that gives Strikers a moment to shine. When used, your Striker will knock away nearby foes, become unhittable for a short while, and launch the Core into the air. While the Core is airborne, only you can hit it and the next hit against it will be greatly empowered.
Map Hazards and Buffs
Each arena in Omega Strikers will also have its own distinct set of environmental hazards to provide a more meaningful level of differentiation between the various maps. There will also be “game buffs” that differ from match-to-match.
Striker Affinity System
Striker Affinity is a new character-specific progression system that rewards players with cool cosmetic rewards as they master new Strikers. Striker Affinity also has a leaderboard component, so players can track their progress on that character against other players.
Visual Improvements
Odyssey Interactive is also working on new background environments and constantly seeks feedback about the UI/UX around the game.
Reporting and Quick Chat
Along with purely visual UI/UX changes, Odyssey Interactive is also adding a better player reporting feature. A party chat feature that lets players quickly shoot pre-made messages to each other is also being developed.
