Overpass 2, the off-road racing sim from developer Neopica and publisher Nacon, has just released a new gameplay trailer featuring the signature UTVs. While it appears to be mostly cinematic, it does reveal a variety of unique vehicles and cosmetics.
Overpass 2 was revealed in May and is currently slated to launch on October 19th, 2023. It will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. You can watch today’s new UTV trailer on the Nacon YouTube channel:
Strangely, today’s trailer description currently suggests that the game will launch on September 28th. This is far earlier than the devs have mentioned anywhere else. It’s likely just a typo, but if someone mistakenly mentioned a genuine earlier release, that would be a nice surprise.
Today’s new footage focuses purely on the visuals and attitude of the UTVs, so it doesn’t show too much more than the reveal trailer did a couple of months ago. At this point, it would’ve been beneficial for the devs to showcase some real gameplay.
Overpass 2 may have a new developer, but it still has an uphill climb after fans left its predecessor with mixed reviews. Getting a clearer sense of the tracks and mechanics will do more to earn trust than some new vehicles.
But they do look great, and fans are sure to nitpick the last dozen seconds of today’s trailer for a clear screenshot of each one. The graphics are sleek, and more detailed than ever. Some of the cosmetics are also more flamboyant, which will surely make a bigger statement on the track. It also hints that Overpass 2 may lean into a splashy, playful tone.
