Owlchemy Labs has made it clear that it wants to create a space in Cosmonius High where everyone feels as if they belong. Whether this is through the cast of characters or by allowing the character to create their own identity, it’s clear that the game keeps this in mind. Now, Cosmonius High has just received a new update that enhances accessibility and provides new ways to play the game.
Released during the Upload VR Summer Showcase, Cosmonius high is getting a whole range of new accessibility features. Some examples of the new additions include support for a one-handed mode and extra options for players who prefer to sit while they play.
Owlchemy Labs bases itself on a “VR for Everyone” philosophy, which means that the company wants those from all walks of life to be able to enjoy their games. In order to reach that goal, it implemented new accessibility options like a one-handed mode, which automatically detects if there is only one controller being used at a time.
Another example is that the game now includes the ability to play while seated, with the headset automatically detecting the height and adjusting to that eye level. Objects are easier to identify and use thanks to the new work by Owlchemy.
There are more tutorials in the game, bridging the gap between what was already there and some of the harder-to-understand concepts. Players will also notice more icons meant to show instructions and abilities in the game. Another part of that comes with the inclusion and easier finding of character pronouns, making them easier to relate to and identify.
The Cosmonius High update adds a lot of accessibility options and it’s only the first step according to the trailer shown during the event. Players who’ve yet to tour Cosmonius High or those who want to go back will likely find an easier time moving and interacting through this world.
