During the recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase, developer Night School Studio announced that the highly anticipated sequel to the narrative adventure game, OXENFREE II: Lost Signals, is slated for release on July 12. The game will be available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. A new trailer was also unveiled by the developer, providing a glimpse into the eerie paranormal thriller that awaits players.

Set five years after the events of the first game, OXENFREE II: Lost Signals follows protagonist Riley as she returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. However, she soon finds herself in the midst of a greater mystery than anticipated, as the small coastal town is plagued by unnatural electromagnetic waves causing interference with electrical and radio equipment.

In OXENFREE II: Lost Signals, players can expect another mind-bending adventure from Night School Studio, the creators of the critically-acclaimed original game. The sequel can be played as a standalone story, or for a deeper experience, players can also delve into the original game. The choices made by players throughout the game will ultimately shape the story’s outcome.

Originally scheduled for release in 2022, OXENFREE II: Lost Signals was pushed back to 2023 last September. Prior to the delay, developer Night School Studio was acquired by Netflix, a move that could potentially shape the studio’s future projects.

As the release date of OXENFREE II: Lost Signals approaches, fans eagerly await the opportunity to immerse themselves in the game’s chilling world and unravel the mysteries that lie within the small town of Camena.
