Final Fantasy XVI looks like it is actively under development on PC. In a recent interview with Game Informer, producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed that the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI is in the final stages of optimization. Although no specific release date has been set, Yoshida assured fans that the wait will not be too long, stating that it “won’t be a year, it won’t be two years.”
Square Enix is currently figuring out the best system requirements for the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI. Yoshida stressed the importance of sharing these requirements with players well before the game’s release. This will give players time to check if their systems can handle the game.
“In terms of where we are in development currently, we’re trying to figure out the final stages of optimization right now. When we can release the PC version might be dependent on that – the system requirements and specifications for PC that players will need, so we’re trying to figure that out. Naturally, [the PC specifications] are looking to be somewhat high. In terms of when it’s going to come out or when we can announce it, I’d like to ask for more time on that.”

To assist players in making informed decisions, Square Enix intends to launch a demo version of Final Fantasy XVI for PC before the full release. PC players will get the chance to test the game’s performance on their setups.
The PC version of Final Fantasy XVI has been in development at the same time as the initial PlayStation 5 release. Although it was expected to take some time, the development seems to be going well, according to the Game Informer interview. We’ll see if it comes out sooner than we’d think.
