Creed: Rise to Glory, the highly successful VR boxing game from developer and publisher Survios, is officially going to launch on PS VR2 on April 4th, 2023. Players can pre-order the game now, and PlayStation Plus members who pre-order will receive a discount and exclusive costume.
The Championship Edition of Creed: Rise to Glory will be available for PS VR2. An official PlayStation blog has confirmed that it will add new content from the upcoming film Creed III, which releases in early March. Here’s the new trailer from PlayStation’s official YouTube channel:
It was a smart move to add content from the new sequel, including characters, costumes, and arenas. Although the technical improvements of the PS VR2 are undeniable, as seen in the recent unboxing video from earlier this month, gamers need some kind of incentive.
After all, Creed: Rise to Glory first launched in September 2018, which is nearly five years ago, if you can believe it. Players have had plenty of time to try out the game, already.
New story chapters are going to make a serious difference, and it might even turn Creed: Rise to Glory into a flagship title for the burgeoning PS VR2. It raises the value of the console. Aside from the authenticity and immersion, the narrative quality of the game really made it a high bar for the sports genre.
Some of the upcoming technical enhancements will include new haptics, and better fields of view. But one of the highlights will surely be cross-platform PvP.
The VR genre is still pretty small within the industry, and VR titles generally aren’t so flexible. Sports games in particular would benefit from adding this feature, since you’ll be able to test your skill against all kinds of opponents.
