PlayStation events are always exciting times for the console gaming community. These events often showcase new gaming technology or upcoming titles and exclusives launching on the PlayStation platform. While we aren’t long off the last PlayStation State of Play event, an ominous post by a user on ResetEra suggests that we may be getting a new one this August.

Ashhong, a verified user on ResetEra, hinted at a possible PlayStation event in one of their posts by using a calendar emoji. After being questioned by other users on the site, Ashong finally clarified what they meant in another post.

Ashhong’s post reads “Well that ruins the fun. The original post said July event, and the emoji I posted had a curl at the bottom, which I meant to turn the page. Expect something in August basically. There could very well be the release date or whatever before then though.”

While it isn’t clear what Ashhong’s source for this information is, their verified status and defense from other members of the community gives them some credibility. Another post by ResetEra user and admin Transistor defends Ashhong’s position as a source for PlayStation leaks:

“This dude has insight into Sony matters and has provided evidence to me verifying as such. Enough insight that he can hear the singing of the winter lanterns and view the lesser Amygdala. (This is just a Bloodborne joke. Not a hint at anything)”

While Ashhong’s credibility doesn’t seem to be in question, players excited for a new PlayStation event should manage their expectations while attentively watching for a new PlayStation event in August.
