The PlayStation Plus service has been leading up to a rework for a while now, but more titles have finally been revealed in advance of next week’s launch.
Here’s the official tweet, which showcases some of the biggest games that will be available soon:
The promo only hints at a couple of blockbuster hits. However, the updated list of new titles is extensive, which makes sense given that the last announcement from March promised over 700 games.
Some games may be limited by local markets, game launches, or your selected plan. But there’s still plenty to break down. Although PlayStation Plus will go live next week in Asia, other regional updates (including the US) will launch throughout June.
Newest Highlights breakdown
There are some notable selections from PlayStation’s own library, beginning with Bloodborne, the Lovecraftian RPG that’s slowly coming up on a ten-year anniversary. More horror hits include Demon’s Souls and The Last of Us, which is getting the TV series treatment on HBO.
The other biggest franchises to be revealed were God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Uncharted games. Those last two have seen an increase in the successful player base, as more casual fans flocked in from the latest movies.
Players can expect to find massive games from PlayStation’s partners, too. These will include NBA 2K22, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Mortal Kombat 11, which still has legs thanks to the introduction of DLC and the cinematic buzz.
Classic Games highlights
One of the most exciting prospects of the new service is the release of old-school hits. After all, exclusivity is the foundation for any subscription service. The newest list of classics is a little disappointing in volume for now, but there is sure to be more in the future.
The standouts from the blog post include some of the Jak, Infamous, and Ratchet & Clank franchises. Some of the biggest third-party surprises were Tekken 2, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare, and the Lego Harry Potter Collection.
