PlayStation has finally announced their End of Year deals, releasing a massive list of bundles, games and add-ons ranging from indie gems to the latest AAA titles. The End of Year deals will be available on the PlayStation Store beginning today and running through December 21st, 2022.

No, God of War Ragnarok is not on sale, and yes, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition is, if you were planning on gifting someone a new PlayStation console this year.

It appears that PlayStation’s biggest sale coincides with Cyber Monday this year, compiling dozens of titles for the full list today. It’s fair to say that not all sales are equal, and while today’s announcement promises up to 80% off, that will hardly apply to larger titles. So, it’s important to consider if the deals are actually worthwhile.

Also, PlayStation admits that discounts will vary by region, so you should definitely double-check if your deals will be improved or lessened accordingly.

Fortunately, the new End of Year deals offer a fair variety of genres and scale, leaving something for pretty much any gamer.

For example, it seems that PlayStation was able to match Xbox’s current sale for Gotham Knights, and it’s actually for the Deluxe edition. This arguably makes it low enough to justify a holiday purchase, especially for something that released last month.

The game has received mixed reviews, mainly due to its graphics and lackluster combat system (especially damaging compared to the Arkham series). However, Gotham itself feels great and the cooperative experience adds a lot, allowing friends to make up their own fun together.

There’s a lot of Assassin’s Creed and Call of Duty on sale, letting new players catch up on their lore before Mirage or investing in Modern Warfare II.

There are also opportunities for players to check out some smaller games. Bridge Constructor Portal is a charming crossover for those still waiting on Portal 3, and the beloved ragdoll puzzler Human Fall Flat is on sale for both PS4 and PS5 for next-gen owners.

Some of the tiniest worthwhile gems are Serial Cleaner and The Warriors, while the Uncharted collection and Sonic Frontiers are highlights of the larger titles. The Skywalker Saga is probably the sweet spot in between, recent enough that you probably don’t have it, and low enough to finally jump in.
