Pokemon is one of the most popular gaming franchises around, and they don’t stop pumping out the games each year. In 2021, the new Pokemon Snap was released on the Nintendo Switch, and they are looking to put out the remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl with the release of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl! These games will be available for the Nintendo Switch, and will bring players back to the Sinnoh Region once again.
One key thing to note about Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is that these are the first main Pokemon games that have not been developed by Game Freak. They are instead being developed by ILCA, who have worked on games such as Yakuza 0, Dragon Quest XI, NieR: Automata, and more. Will that change anything in particular? Hard to say at this point, we will just have to wait and see.
Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Countdown
The release date that has been set for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl is November 19th, 2021. The exact release time is unknown at the moment, but it will likely be right at 12am ET. That’s the current time we have set for our countdown, but we will change it if any additional information is revealed!

While Pokemon Sword and Shield went for a more three-dimensional art-style, it appears that these remakes are going more back to the roots of Pokemon and employing a chibi-based look. It seems fairly divided among fans on whether or not the art choice was a good idea, so we’ll just have to see how the full game ends up looking!
One nice aspect of this format has given players the ability to once again allow their favorite Pokemon to trail behind them as they travel through the world!
If you’re thinking about pre-order then the rewards are a bit underwhelming. If you pre-order the normal digital copy of the game, you will get the Manaphy Egg and 12x Quick Balls. If you pre-order a retail physical copy, you will just get the Manaphy Egg.
If you want to go all the way, you can pre-order the double pack, which includes both games. The digital version gets the Manaphy Egg, 12x Quick Balls, and 200x Poke Balls. Where the physical release will give you just the Manaphy Egg and 200x Poke Balls.
If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch Lite yet, then you can consider purchasing the Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga & Palkia Edition! This will be available on November 5th, 2021, and will get you a pretty nice looking custom Nintendo Switch Lite! It should be noted that the games are not included with it, so you’ll have to purchase them separately!
That’s everything you need to know about when Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will be released into the world. We’ll have more coverage of the game in the future, which you can find in the Pokemon section of our website!
