The popular mobile game Pokémon GO is set to launch an all-new event called A Valorous Hero, focusing on powering up and battling Pokémon. The event will run from Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Team Valor leader Candela may be a formidable Trainer, but she needs some research support, and that’s where players come in.
During the event, Mega Pinsir will make its Pokémon GO debut in Mega Raids, offering players a chance to catch this powerful creature in normal or shiny. Additionally, for the first time in Pokémon GO, players may encounter Shiny Tapu Fini in raids if they’re fortunate.
The event will also feature various bonuses, including double Candy for catching Pokémon. Trainers level 31 and above will have twice the chance to obtain Candy XL when catching Pokémon, providing an extra incentive for higher-level players.
The Valorous Hero event will include a variety of Pokémon appearing in one-star, three-star, and five-star raids. One-star raids will feature Hisuian Growlithe, Galarian Ponyta, and Hoothoot. Three-star raids will showcase Galarian Stunfisk, Druddigon, Hisuian Braviary, and Hisuian Avalugg. Five-star raids will present Tapu Fini, while Mega Raids will be headlined by Mega Pinsir.
A special research story, A Valorous Hero, will be available, featuring Team Valor leader Candela. Trainers who complete the research will be rewarded with an encounter with Ponyta wearing a Candela-themed accessory. This will be the only opportunity to encounter Ponyta with this accessory during the event.
Throughout the event, timed research tasks will be available, offering rewards such as a Fast TM and a Charged TM upon completion. Event-themed Field Research tasks will also be accessible, granting players Stardust, Revives, Hyper Potions, and an encounter with Ponyta.
As a reminder, free Special Research called An Everyday Hero will be available for Trainers during Season 10: Rising Heroes. Players can help Professor Willow and discover surprises by participating in this research. The Special Research can be claimed until the end of Season 10: Rising Heroes on June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
