Pokémon Go has officially announced the return of their in-person events this year, and the new Fest will take place in Berlin. Tickets are now available for the event, which is scheduled to run between July 1st and July 3rd, 2022.
Here’s the official tweet from Pokémon Go, featuring Britzer Garten scenery and some familiar faces:
The tweet also teases Shaymin from Gen IV, as attendees may expect to run into the rare Sky Forme, which traditionally required a Gracidea flower and looks quite different. This variation is featured at the top corner of the promotional tweet.
Other rare encounters at Pokémon Go Fest in Berlin will include the introduction of Shiny Pansear and Shiny Foongus into the game. Although Pokémon Legends: Arceus made it much easier to capture shiny forms due to research, the status hasn’t lost its glamor.
Lastly, there will be four unique habitats of the Berlin area for new encounters: Electric Garden, Windy Coast, Living Meadow, and Molten Rocks. Each has their own Collection Challenge.
It’s basically an in-person Wild Area, where you can meet the gorgeous Galarian Ponyta or even Feebas, the high-maintenance fish that required lots of beauty treatments back in Gen III.
The description on Pokémon’s official page doesn’t mention all the available encounters, so expect some surprises. For example, Unknown is shown on the promo image, but isn’t actually listed.
GO Fest 2022 activities
Naturally, there will also be event-exclusive Field Research and Special Research this year. But there will also be a Trading Post, allowing up to six special trades for a reduced Stardust cost.
Attendees will have access to a Battle Ground for some old-fashioned Trainer matches, again. The event also promises that taking a snapshot will result in some kind of surprise. This probably suggests a fun photobomb, but it might also include a reward.
Lastly, there will be Raids during the event, including tough five-star appearances from Cresselia and Darkrai. However, they won’t be the only Pokémon available.
