A lot of the trailer shows off the beginning of the game, which already resembles the traditional routine of the series. Two new Professors, Sada and Turo, introduce players to the new starters and send them off to their first battle.

Then, the trailer confirms some kind of multiplayer that supports up to four players. It may even imply cooperative gameplay, which would be revolutionary, as the Let’s Go series just didn’t offer much, and playing raids together quickly became tedious.

The phrase, “you can head out on adventures together” suggests that even the campaign might be cooperative, too, something that fans have been begging for after the addition of an open world in Arceus.

It also looks like the capturing mechanic from Arceus will return too, which is fortunate for those who agree that it felt a lot more natural compared to previous games. Hopefully, it will function a little more smoothly, because sometimes the lines of sight and awareness of the Pokémon didn’t quite add up.

More scenery was revealed too, including gorgeous fields, caves and snowy areas. Pokémon centers of some kind will also be available in the wild, and it’s established that players can trade here.

The trailer finishes up by revealing the latest Legendaries, upright dragon-looking Pokémon overlooking the ocean from a tall peak. This suggests that nature will play a more central role again after making such an impression in Arceus.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be available on November 18, 2022. You can read more great content about the Pokémon franchise in our news section!
