In a surprising moment, a brand-new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has just been released, introducing a new and exciting adventure set to unfold next year. As revealed by the teaser video, Game Freak is preparing an upcoming epilogue for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, and it is scheduled to launch on January 11, 2024, at 14:00 UTC.

While the trailer kept things short and sweet, it offered a glimpse into the excitement awaiting players in the new journey. Following the recently released The Indigo Disk expansion, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Epilogue will transport players back to Kitakami, the backdrop for the earlier Teal Mask expansion. Adding to the excitement, the epilogue marks the return of Arven, Nemona, and Penny, who will once again join the players in their adventure.

As with previous expansions, players are required to complete a certain postgame event in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet‘s main story to have access to The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero epilogue. Players must also finish the main stories of The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.

Despite prior leaks having hinted at the existence of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Epilogue, the official announcement has still managed to generate excitement among Pokémon fans. With Pokémon Day just a few months away, it is surprising that Game Freak did not wait for this special occasion to announce the release of the epilogue. This is most likely due to the earlier leak. Regardless, fans eagerly anticipate reuniting with the Academy trio for a new adventure in Kitakami.
