In V Rising, you play as a Vampire in a hostile world, with the only way to survive is to collect blood and build a base, so that you and your friends can consolidate power and rule the world. You need all the help you can get if you want to take on this hostile environment on your own, so if you’re looking for how to take on the Putrid Rat you’ve found the right guide.

V Bloods are incredibly valuable targets who unlock new crafting blueprints and powerful abilities for your Vampire. While you can track their scent, it’s much easier to simply know the exact location of where these powerful foes reside.

Putrid Rat Location

The Putrid Rat is one of the few bosses in V-Rising you can’t find on the map. This boss is a level 30 V-Blood, so be prepared before taking it on.

To fight the Putrid Rat, you must first craft it at the Vermin Nest. A Vermin Nest costs 360 Stone and 120 Bone to build, and can be placed in your castle. Once crafted, the Putrid Rat can be battled in your own home base, allowing you a far greater amount of control over the battle than usual. The Putrid Rat requires a Twilight Snapper, Fish Bones, and Grave Dust to craft.

As with all V-Rising bosses, I highly recommend using the safety of the crossbow to your advantage. For more combat tips against the Putrid Rat, check out the video below.

Defeating the Putrid Rat gives you the ability to transform into a rat yourself, allowing you to quickly and stealthily traverse the map with the advantage of your small size.
