Chicory: A Colorful Tale, the top-down puzzle adventure RPG published by Finji, is finally getting an Xbox port later this month on May 30th, 2023. It will be available on both current and last-gen Xbox consoles, and it will also join the Xbox Game Pass.
Chicory: A Colorful Tale originally launched in 2021, and is available now on PC, PlayStation, and the Nintendo Switch. You can watch the full Xbox port gameplay trailer on the Finji YouTube channel:
Chicory: A Colorful Tale deserves all of the praise and astronomical scores it has earned since launch. There is a very distinct passion for the world of art in every frame, not to mention a remarkable comprehension.
As a result, Chicory: A Colorful Tale feels like an authentic experience. And the tone is consistently warm, lighthearted and optimistic. It could probably encourage just about anyone to discover their inner artist, or at least a new appreciation for art.
While that all may sound a little profound, the game is entertaining and maintains a friendly, accessible attitude. The coloring book world was a perfect environment that gave the devs all the freedom they needed.
It’s somewhat a surprise that this lost gem hasn’t appeared on Xbox yet, but introducing it into the Xbox Game Pass is certain to renew interest. Further, the Game Pass is still arguably one of the best subscription services because it includes titles like this.
Chicory: A Colorful Tale is full of visual spectacle, despite the personal scope of its settings and characters. The puzzles evolve with a variety of new styles. These features all benefited greatly from the PlayStation 5’s next-gen tech, so it should continue to impress on the Xbox Series X|S.
