Super Rare Originals and Inresin have made an announcement about their upcoming puzzle platformer, The Gecko Gods. They have expanded the game’s supported platforms to include PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, alongside the previously announced Switch and PC releases. However, its release window has been delayed once again and is currently set for 2024.
The Gecko Gods immerses players in a world filled with mysterious islands where they will take on the role of a tiny gecko on a mission to save their friend. Throughout this journey, players will encounter ancient tombs and breathtaking landscapes. The game promises unique and immersive gameplay that allows players to climb any surface, solve complex puzzles, and explore the ruins of a long-forgotten civilization.
One of The Gecko Gods‘ key features is the level of freedom it offers in terms of exploration. As an adorable Gecko, players can climb any surface, including ground, walls, or even the ceiling. No nook or cranny is left unexplored, as secrets could be hidden anywhere in this enchanting world. Traveling between islands is also possible, as the gecko can even sail a boat.
Apart from investigating a wide open island full of secrets and collectibles, players can also venture into ancient tombs to solve puzzles in ways only a gecko with wall-climbing skills can manage. Those who prefer a more relaxed experience can opt to simply follow through the campaign story. With smooth actions, a gorgeous original soundtrack, and combat-light gameplay, The Gecko Gods introduces atmospheric adventure into the depths of a society forgotten in time.
The PS4 and PS5 versions of The Gecko Gods will offer exclusive features, including haptic feedback and 3D audio support. This promises to create an immersive experience that sets it apart from The Gecko Gods releases on other systems.
For eager fans who want to be notified as soon as The Gecko Gods is released, the game is now available for wishlist on Steam and Nintendo eShop.
