NIS has just announced Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX, a new release for the classic arcade shooter Raiden III, with a new trailer elaborating on all the features fans can expect. This naturally includes fresh music, which plays a large role in the series.
Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX was announced to roll out in February for Japan, and a new release window for other regions has been confirmed for Summer 2023. An exact launch date hasn’t been announced, but it will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, as well as both of the latest PlayStation and Xbox gens.

Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX promises more than enough new features to convince fans to revisit the classic arcade series. For example, the World Ranking Mode is a fun way to restore the community of an arcade. The incentives in today’s trailer closely follow the same approach for the Raiden IV x MIKADO remix, which was announced in July 2022.
The new music guests are a crucial part of selling this release of Raiden III, but anyone who was already on board for Raiden IV will probably show up regardless. The game’s official site also mentions Limited and Deluxe editions for PlayStation 5.
The Limited Edition has a “Supercharged Schematics” poster and an acrylic phone stand, both of which are really some of the neatest collectibles in any recent physical release. They’re creative, and even a little unusual, which is a nice change of pace.
Other obligatory items like the soundtrack are more valuable here, given the role music plays in the series. It’s a shame that it’s a console exclusive, but PlayStation users will certainly be pleased.
