Rainbow Six Siege has just released a brand-new trailer showcasing the upcoming Nighthaven Labs map, which is expected to roll out alongside Operation Solar Raid.
Concrete details have not been confirmed for Solar Raid, just yet. However, today’s map trailer also announced a full Operation reveal on November 21st, 2022, premiering on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel. You can watch the new footage of Nighthaven Labs on Rainbow Six Siege’s YouTube channel here:
Nighthaven Labs is easily one of the most fresh, colorful, and intriguing map additions to Rainbow Six Siege in a while. The coastal colors really pop, and the lab setting was clearly a potent concept.
The environment invited different kinds of technology for the exteriors and interiors, and the architecture was allowed to flex contemporary designs. As a result, the lines of sight are really compelling. The verticality has fair accessibility, and the rotation paths seem pretty smooth.
Further, the interiors managed to introduce some creative ideas without losing the traditional hallways and rooms, so the flow of the match won’t be disrupted.
There’s a lot of flavor here, which the game sorely needed, as many players have been frustrated by the lack of new content. To be fair, Rainbow Six Siege launched in 2015, so it’s approaching its ten-year anniversary, and it’s difficult to fuel a ten-year game.
Some fans quickly noticed the nod to Assassin’s Creed in today’s trailer. Inside Nighthaven Labs, there appears to be a familiar Animus model, possibly from the very first installment of the popular Assassin’s Creed franchise. That was a big surprise for fans of Ubisoft’s flagship series, and it’ll be a fun easter egg to explore in-game.
