Apex Season 12 Map Guide

A new season of Apex Legends means a reset ranked climb. Players looking to climb the ladder have a new map rotation to look forward to this season. So what maps are in the rotation? In this guide, we’ll tell you about the new maps you’ll be playing on this ranked season.

Apex Legends Season 12 Ranked Map Rotation

Every season, Apex Legends features only two of the four current maps in the ranked rotation, so that competitive players don’t have to worry as much about not knowing the map when they go into a game. This season, the two ranked maps in rotation are King’s Canyon and Olympus.

King’s Canyon is a fan favorite and the original Apex Legends map. The Iconic desert map will include all of its of-date updates, so players won’t be returning to the classic King’s Canyon map. Olympus has received some changes with the new season, with new features to look out for.

New Olympus Map Changes

One of the maps in this season’s ranked rotation is the updated Sabotaged Olympus map. Mad Maggies has apparently sabotaged much of the map, creating a brand new way to play the map. The map has been expanded, spacing out squads away from the center location. It now also features better rotational options, so moving across the map doesn’t feel as awkward as it did before.

Apex Olympus Tunnel

The map now features a new interactive zone, the Phase Driver. This area is on the south side of the map, and features a high-tier loot drop for players to fight over. Expect this area to see lots of contention, as players will be looking to land in the new location and get their hands on the guaranteed gold loot drop.

To make room for the new Phase Driver, the general map size of Olympus has been expanded. Olympus is now connected to a brand new terrain zone on its South side. Existing areas like Solar Array, Icarus, and Bonsai have had their platforms pushed out away from the center of Olympus to fit the new chunk of land. This is the first time existing points of interest have been moved in an Apex map without being destroyed.

Apex Olympus Reactor

Raised platforms and towns create brand new frontlines to engage from and rotate between, making traversing through Olympus a totally new experience. Squads will approach Olympus in a new way, and many players who their criticisms of the old map should be satisfied with the changes.
