Independent game developer Rebel Wolves has finally lifted the lid on their next project, officially confirming the existence of a title rumored as Dawnwalker. The studio took to Twitter to address speculation, stating that they don’t like to comment on rumors but had to confirm this one since they heard it, too.

Accompanying the announcement is a single image, hinting at the game’s tone and protagonist. The image depicts a shadowy figure, shrouded in smoke, leaping downwards with a raised sword. The figure’s features are obscured, leaving a lot to the imagination. It looks like a game set in some kind of European medieval time period, maybe slaying vampires. Still, that’s a guess based on the sword and clothing of the man mixed with the name.

Any details regarding Dawnwalker’s gameplay, plot, or release date remain under wraps. The image and confirmation itself aren’t much to go off of, but it’s a lot in itself. The symbol in the image has my curiosity. It looks like a crusader cross acting as a scale, with a sun and a moon in balance. When you look at the man’s hand, it looks like he has long claws.

So it looks like this will have something to do with vampires since the sun, moon, and claws are there. This is alongside the old European clothing and sword we see. It looks like the player transformed, and that caused some kind of smoke. From there, they are killing someone. The sanguine red tone symbolizes the blood that vampires must drink.

These are guesses, again, but there’s only so much we can get from an image. However, I’m pretty sure I’m close because “daywalker” is just a term for a vampire who can walk around during the day. We’ll have to wait and see for sure, though.
