Remedy Entertainment’s CEO, Tero Virtala, recently disclosed in a financial report that the much-anticipated horror title, Alan Wake 2, is on track for its 2023 launch. Virtala expressed excitement for the project, stating that the game is well on its way to becoming a great addition to the company’s lineup.

In his comments, Virtala mentioned that the game has entered the last major phase of full production. The development team is fully staffed, and as the launch date approaches, the team size will gradually scale down. These freed-up developers will be reassigned to other projects within the company, propelling them towards their next stages of development.

Alan Wake 2 is on its way to becoming a great game and has everyone excited at Remedy. We have started the last major phase of full production to get the game ready for launch later this year. The project is fully staffed, but we will be able to start scaling down the team size gradually as we progress towards the launch. These freed-up developers will contribute to our other game projects that are being driven towards the next stages of development.

Virtala emphasized that Remedy’s primary focus remains on the successful launch of Alan Wake 2. He praised the development team for their exceptional work and expressed confidence in the game’s quality and promise. Alan Wake 2 will be the company’s first new game launch since Control in 2019.

Our firm focus is on the upcoming launch of Alan Wake 2. While work still remains, I am impressed with the quality of the work and the development velocity of the team. The game holds a lot of promise. This will be our first new game launch since Control in 2019. Alan Wake 2 will be a game that we will all be proud of and most importantly I am sure it will be a game that players will love to play.

The announcement of Alan Wake 2 was made at The Game Awards, where a familiar face and voice appeared on screen, revealing that the sequel to the beloved original game was finally in the works. Remedy Entertainment thanked fans for their ongoing support over the years and shared their excitement for the writer’s return after 11 long years.

In collaboration with Epic Games Publishing, Remedy Entertainment has worked diligently to create a next-generation experience with Alan Wake 2. The game will be available on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X in 2023. Alan Wake 2 marks the company’s first foray into the survival horror genre, providing players with an even more chilling experience and familiar psychological horror elements. With the game’s launch drawing nearer, fans can look forward to an engaging and suspenseful gaming experience.
