The Metacritic Page for Resident Evil 4: Gold shows a release date. This has not been confirmed by Capcom or anyone involved and may be a placeholder, but it is something that will likely be hidden again. The date given is February 9, 2024.
While the Metacritic date leak may not be exactly accurate, it confirms the game exists and is a good time period to expect a release. For those who don’t know, Resident Evil 4: Gold is an ultimate edition of the Resident Evil 4 remake. Back when I was a young lad, games had “gold” editions that essentially meant they had all of the expansion packs and improvements in them. The names started to be “definitive” and “ultimate” much later, but it’s a fun nod to the olden days when Resident Evil 4 was initially released.
Everyone is excited because the gold edition should have the Separate Ways DLC alongside the game. The game gets updates online, which would typically be a part of games back when “Gold” was a normal thing to call the completed edition of a game. There’s no information about what else may come in the Gold edition, but we imagine it won’t just have DLC.
The Resident Evil 4 remake features modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics. The gameplay is similar to the original, with Leon over-the-shoulder third-person shooter gameplay. However, the remake also features some new gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to parry attacks and use the environment to your advantage.
You should probably wait if you still haven’t purchased the Resident Evil 4 remake. The Gold edition may be reasonably priced and might be an excellent version to buy.
