Resident Evil 4 Remake is an upcoming survival horror game and a reimagining of the 2005 Resident Evil game developed and published by Capcom. It will feature the same “over-the-shoulder” third-person shooter gameplay as its original but with upgraded and enhanced graphics, a more tense atmosphere, better character designs, and improved surroundings.

Recently, Game Informer released a new video showcasing exclusive gameplay footage from Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter Five provided by Capcom. In this chapter, Leon arrives on the Island to confront new enemies, overcome greater challenges, and access the Research Facility in order to rescue Ashley. The 12-minute gameplay walkthrough covered the chapter shortly after Leon meets Ashley. The Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 5 Gameplay video includes extended looks at the church and cemetery sequences, fighting and exploration demos, and a larger preview of the chaotic cabin battle with Luis Serra. The upgrades and alterations made to this game are promising, although some may have observed a few problems with the remake, such as the jarring appearance of rain.

Capcom’s gameplay preview of Resident Evil 4 Remake depicted the rain as somewhat of a filter that makes it seem like a flat animated texture. The droplets also appear to have no variation in size, creating a heavy unrealistic impression. It looks to be purposefully obscuring the scenery in order to heighten the tension. However, it may be a bit too much and cause issues with enemy visibility. Hopefully, feedback from the gameplay preview will reach Capcom and be addressed before the game’s release.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to be released for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on March 24, 2023, with support on PS VR2. You may pre-order Resident Evil 4 Remake to get bonuses, including Leon’s Gold Attaché Case and Handgun Ammo charm.
