Rhythm Sprout is a fast-paced rhythm action game developed by SURT and published by tinyBuild. It features original music and a wacky story mode along with handcrafted levels, infinite replayability, and more.
Last year, a demo for Rhythm Sprout was made available for PC via Steam and Xbox. Recently, tinyBuild announced that the game will finally launch on February 1st for PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. In Rhythm Sprout, players must step to the rhythm and fight to the beat. Each music track is paired with a one-of-a-kind and intricately crafted 3D environment that was based on the story beats associated with it.
The whole soundtrack of Rhythm Sprout was composed especially for the video game and was done so with an eye on producing original beatmaps. It results in high sync between sound and gameplay. Various musical styles, such as EDM, K-POP, Drum’n’Bass, Disco, Lo-fi hip-hop, even Metal, and more, served as sources of inspiration for the music themes in Rhythm Sprout.
In addition to fun rhythmic gameplay, Rhythm Sprout follows the bizarre story of Sprout, the Chosen Onion, who is on a light and self-aware adventure between music levels. As Sprout, players will be able to make humorous conversation encounters filled with goofy jokes and pop culture references. They must also aid the lovable citizens of the Vegetable Kingdom and face a charming cast of Sweet Villains.
In addition to difficulty modes and high-score awards other modifiers can also increase the difficulty and replay value. Combine different level modifiers to get unique results such as the following:
- Speed up any song with the Turbo Mode
- Refresh your muscle memory using the Mirror Mode
- Shuffle the notes to get a unique beatmap
- Or wing it entirely with the always-changing Totally Random Mode
For added excitement, Rhythm Sprout also includes hardcore remixes and gimmicky bonus levels. There are also a variety of unlockable costumes for Sprout and skins for his weapon.
