Roblox BedWars ban wave possibly false banning players

Roblox BedWars is one of the largest games on the platform, and they have just released the second season of their battle pass, which brings a whole lot of players into the game. Along with this update was a big ban wave, that hit a bunch of potential cheaters in the game. However, there’s a lot of players claiming they were falsely banned and are now unable to play!

According to SnickTrix on the BedWars Discord, who is one of the developers on the game, they have found that none of the bans were false positives. You can read their statement below.

Hey everyone! I wanted to provide some clarification and reassurance about the recent ban wave. We know that many of you have been afraid to play the game due to fear of being banned, but I want to reassure you that you don’t need to worry about this. After reviewing a large number of bans, the detection system that we used in this ban wave has had ZERO false positives. We have reviewed a large number complaints in the bug reports channel and have found none of them to be legitimate. All of the complaining users have been found to be using exploits. Cheaters will frequently claim to be innocent if they believe that there is a chance they may be unbanned by doing so. It is important to remember that BedWars will only issue permanent bans when we have 100% confidence that a player is using an exploit. We do not issue permanent bans unless we are absolutely sure. We test our ban waves and detections heavily before going live and take issuing bans very seriously. Rest assured that legitimate players have not and will not be banned.

BedWars Ban Wave

The BedWars Ban Wave in the October 23rd, 2021 update reportedly banned 20,342 possible cheaters. That’s quite a few players, but right now it is possible that some people have been falsely banned. If you are one of these players, then unfortunately there’s not a lot you can do right now.

The best way to handle this is to wait for an announcement from the developers. There has been no official word yet on whether or not these bans are actually false. What the developers used to determine if people were cheating or not is also unknown. If players have actually been falsely banned, you can very much expect an update and fix to come to the game soon!

It is important to stay calm right now, if you were falsely banned then you will likely be reinstated and have all of your stuff that you purchased previously still available to you. I know it isn’t any fun to be banned falsely, but don’t lose your cool, just wait until the developers handle things.
