Robocop Rogue City

The brand new RoboCop video game, featuring Peter Weller returning to his iconic role, has just had a brand new gameplay trailer released. The nearly two-minute-long trailer for Robocop Rogue City shows off the game’s stunning graphics and some gunplay, showing players what to expect when they return to the franchise’s dystopian near-future environment on the game’s release.

For those who don’t know, RoboCop Rogue City is an upcoming first-person shooter being developed by Teyon. This isn’t the Polish game developer’s first foray into a beloved 80s action franchise, with their previous release Terminator: Resistance receiving praise from fans and telling us that RoboCop is in good hands.

RoboCop Rogue City’s gameplay trailer gives us a taste of what to expect in the upcoming title. We see the crime-ridden streets of Detroit, and Peter Weller’s RoboCop executing his crusade against the gangs of the dystopian city. Even so, the game hints at RoboCop’s underlying scenes of corruption and humanity, showing off a fight with ED-209 and reminding us that the criminals we’ll purge as RoboCop are only scratching the surface of the city’s problems.

In the trailer, we see Alex Murphy (RoboCop) fighting off against man and machine with the Auto9, the iconic weapon from the movie. It’s unclear how gameplay staples like weapon upgrades or new weapon unlocks will translate into a RoboCop video game while staying true to the movie, as Murphy is only ever seen using one gun.

RoboCop Rogue City releases in June of 2023, meaning fans won’t have too much longer to wait to get their hands on this tribute to a classic action movie. Rogue City will be released on practically every platform available, with confirmed releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.
