Rocket League April Fools’ 2023 Joke: Eggstra Special Mode and More Surprises

Rocket League has revealed its April Fools’ Day joke for 2023, and it brings a host of entertaining surprises to the game. A new in-game Limited Time Mode (LTM) called Eggstra Special Mode has been introduced, where the typical ball is replaced with an extra-bouncy, Easter egg-themed one. The 3v3 Casual LTM mode also grants players infinite boost, making for a chaotic and fun gaming experience.

In addition to the new game mode, Rocket League has released a player anthem of the iconic song “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. The anthem can be purchased for 300 Credits in the Item Shop, allowing players to “rickroll” their opponents in style.

Text chat has been temporarily disabled as part of the April Fools’ joke, and several quick chat responses have had their text amusingly replaced. For example, “I got it!” has been changed to “Allow me!”, and “Need boost!” is now “My life is a void without you, my dear sweet boost!” Other phrases such as “This is Rocket League!” have been humorously transformed into “rokt leeg!” These changes bring a light-hearted atmosphere to the matches, encouraging players to engage in friendly banter.

    Could we get the old April fools mode(the 3 wheeled one) to be added into a cycled playlist or added into ranked? I was really hoping for that to comeback.
