RuneScape is wrapping up this year with the Presents From The Sledge Christmas event for the final 2022 update along with a preview of content set to arrive in the following year.
During the Presents from the Sledge event, players may earn Wrapping Paper and get holiday-themed rewards, including the stunning new Aurora Dye. Moreover, players will get a daily free gift just by chatting with the hosts. While this may be the last update of the year for RuneScape, the Legacy of Zamorak final quest, the Winter Yak Track, and other content will keep players occupied for the rest of the month.
In addition, Santa’s Grotto will return to RuneScape from December 23rd until January 4th. During this event, players may obtain a range of Christmas-themed cosmetics, including rare, tradable Green Santa Outfit pieces for a fashionable holiday outfit. These items go very nicely with the green Santa hat. In addition, players have the opportunity to obtain three Christmas jumpers featuring Guthix, Penguins, and Chinchompas. During the holiday season, make sure to visit Santa’s Grotto to acquire more Wrapping Paper for Presents From The Sledge for each Key used.
A small members-only event will also begin on January 4th and continue through January 31st in RuneScape, where players must keep a lookout for Frank’s Free Chest. This pirate version of Frank has set up shop in Port Sarim. Head to the shop at the start of the event to earn Pirate Keys – players get one per day upon login and another each hour of play, with a maximum of 12 per week. These Pirate Keys may be redeemed at the Chest for goodies such as Uncharted Island Maps, 100 million GP, and Dragon Tools, among others. Ironman players may get all rewards with the exception of Dragon Tools and GP.
Apart from January’s Death Costs update, there is still more exciting upcoming content awaiting to be revealed by RuneScape. Tune in to the RuneScape livestream on Twitch on December 13th at 16:00 for the big reveal. A letter from RuneScape’s Executive Producer will also be published on December 19th.
Fresh Start Worlds will also be available over the Holiday season, and there are still a variety of rewards available, including Alternative Skill Capes, Halo of Returning, and more. In the next weeks, the XP bonuses will continue to decline as FSW becomes more similar to the main game. Players will still have Free Deaths, 20% chances to double a monster or boss drop, 40% chance to double gathered Materials, +100% Accuracy in combat, and access to all Tier 5 Auras.
Fresh Start Worlds will fully come to a close on January 9th, at which point all characters will be moved to the main game, along with any eligible item. RuneScape will also return for the next update on January 9th. Learn more about the Present From The Sledge event, as well as the enhancements and bug fixes included in this week’s update on the RuneScape website.
