Sea of Thieves Season Eight Update
General Seasonal Information
In this Season, you’ll have 100 levels of rewards to unlock just from playing the game, raising your Renown. Some of these rewards include cosmetics, gold, and Ancient coins.
You can also purchase the latest Plunder Pass, which costs 999 Ancient Coins, to access additional premium items that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
Faction Warfare: Pirate vs. Pirate
Once you vote on which Faction you’d like to join, you have one straightforward goal– destroy enemy ships from the opposing Faction. If you win, you’ll earn Allegiance and unlock faction rewards.
If you can build up your undefeated streak, you’ll also get boosted Allegiance. In addition, if you can sink more than four enemy ships in a row, you will be dubbed a faction champion.
However, this does mean you’ll become a target for the opposing Faction. If the opposing Faction sinks your ship, they gain a more significant boost. So, be on the lookout!
The Spoils of War: Hourglass of Fate
If you feel confident in your warfare skills, take as much treasure on your ship as possible and go into battle. This will amplify your Allegiance-earning potential.
If you can survive, this is good news for your Hourglass of Fate as your Hourglass will increase in value. When you vote to leave the Battle for the Sea of Thieves, you can cash in your Hourglass at any Outpost or The Reaper’s Hideout. But if your ship ends up at the bottom of the sea, your stored value will be lost!
The more battles you win, you’ll unlock rewards and raise your Allegiance, which means you’ll get fantastic perks. Some of these include access to previously unexplored areas of each Faction’s hideout.
Emissary Progressions
Emissaries for Athena’s Fortune or The Reaper’s Bones who sink ships of the opposing Faction will receive all the usual rewards and boost your Emissary Grade, company reputation, and Ledger position.
Captain Additions
In Season Eight, there are two new Milestone Alignments in the Ship’s Log for Captains. These include The Guardian and The Servant. Representing the relevant Factions and progressing through the Milestones will unlock new Trinkets and customization options.
Emporium Treasures
New treasures have been added to the emporium, and some include:
- King’s Ransom Ship Collection
- King’s Ransom Crown
- Night Wulf Ship Collection
- Night Wulf Costume and Weapon Bundle!
Plunder Pass
If you purchase the Plunder Pass this Season, you can earn the complete Ravenwood Ship Collection (including Collector’s Figurehead and Sails) and the evolving Ravenwood Costume that changes as you raise your Renown and progress through the Season!
