Sega just announced that they’ll be visiting the next international TwitchCon, which is going to run over the weekend of July 16th and 17th in Amsterdam.
Here’s the official tweet, revealing that fans outside the US will finally get to enjoy TwitchCon again since Berlin:
TwitchCon began in San Fransisco, 2015, so there’s only been a few celebrations since. But most of them have been set in San Diego, and that would’ve been the location for the most recent US TwitchCon too if not for COVID restrictions.
The pandemic also cancelled a May 2020 celebration in Amsterdam, but fans in the area will finally have their day.
Event details and breakdown
TwitchCon is all about streamers and gaming, filled with musical performances and plenty of activities. Some of the biggest streamers will show up, including Sakuriiii and Dinoricar this year.
Since Twitch Rivals will also take place at TwitchCon Amsterdam, you can expect some of these famous streamers to compete against each other too.
Aside from games, visitors can also look forward to Meet and Greets, Community Meetups and even an Artist Alley. The Alley is a marketplace for creators to show off their latest work, which fans can buy to show their support.
Sega made plenty of waves lately by releasing several minutes of gameplay footage for Sonic Frontiers yesterday, so one can only hope that there’ll be more in store during TwitchCon. There are also rumors about a new console floating around, so Sega has plenty up its sleeve for 2022.
To remember your time at TwitchCon, the Loot Cave area will allow guests to purchase official gear from the event. But you can also expect a “swag bag” just for showing up, whether you buy the 1-day or 2-day tickets. The 2-day tickets will cost €108, or $115 USD.
