Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, a detective horror adventure game, is set to release on April 11 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and Switch. Players who preorder the game will receive The Sleuth’s Attire Cosmetic Set as a bonus. The game, which originally debuted in 2006, has been completely remade and significantly rewritten, now featuring Unreal Engine 4 for enhanced graphics and animations.

The Awakened presents an unusual crossover of the worlds of Sherlock Holmes and H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. The story follows a young Holmes and Dr. Watson as they investigate their first major case together, attempting to thwart a cult obsessed with an Eldritch god and its world-altering prophecy. This horrifying adventure delves into the traumatic events that would ultimately shape the characters into the famous yet flawed detective duo.

As players navigate through iconic locations such as Baker Street in London, a haunting psychiatric ward in Switzerland, and the dangerous Louisiana wetlands, they will encounter Eldritch horrors beyond human comprehension. In this reimagined version, both Holmes and Watson are playable characters, allowing gamers to witness their deepening bond as they confront blood-curdling challenges that will forever change them.

Sherlock Holmes, known for his rationality and reason, faces an otherworldly entity that defies all logic in The Awakened. The pursuit of truth drives him to the edge of madness, leading to the only story that Watson will never publish. Players must battle encroaching insanity as they seek answers to questions with no rational explanation.

The remastered game boasts modern graphics and animations, an expanded storyline, numerous side quests, and new mechanics, including unique insanity gameplay. This reimagining of the 2008 title invites players to experience a fresh take on the traumatic and sanity-breaking experiences that shaped Holmes and Watson into the iconic detective duo the world knows today.
