For those eagerly awaiting an expansion of the Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon universe, the wait is almost over. This spring, players will have the chance to immerse themselves in the Puzzler’s Pack DLC, a substantial addition to the popular game, which will be accessible on Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC via Steam.
This first of three planned DLCs for the title, will be a free add-on requiring only the base game, expanding the Shovel Knight experience with a raft of exciting new elements. Among these are new playable characters, Puzzle Knight and Mona, each possessing unique abilities designed to enhance game-play strategy and fun. Puzzle Knight offers the potential to rotate surrounding enemies clockwise, crafting useful new combos, while Mona brings her alchemical skills to the table, setting off chain reactions of explosive potions.
The DLC promises to test players’ skills with new battles, boons, and bosses, while introducing additional relics, courtesy of Chester, and opening up uncharted areas for exploration. These include the Hedge Farm, a rustic locale in need of some gardening care, and Castle Quandary, a cloud-dwelling castle reached by scaling a towering beanstalk.
Castle Quandary will provide each character with exclusive quests, known as Quandary Challenges, the completion of which will yield new costumes, abilities, and more. Alongside these quests, the DLC offers a Marathon Mode, where players can pit their skills against endless enemy waves.

The introduction of Mr. Hat’s Fancy Shop adds an extra layer of fun to the game, offering a variety of game-modifying headpieces for purchase. This, along with the addition of numerous hidden secrets within the game, ensures an extended and enriched gaming experience.
The DLC also addresses practical considerations, with a number of new features and improvements designed to enhance gameplay quality. These include Set Seeds, Weekly Challenges, Bump Assists for preventing player demise, and the ability to skip cutscenes. Additionally, there will be an array of new feats to collect, providing completionists with plenty of challenges.
