Bloober Team, the company making the highly awaited Silent Hill 2 remake, is almost done with the development. CEO Piotr Babieno mentioned during a recent earnings call that the game is in its final stages, and fans can look forward to an official release date announcement in the coming months. Although the exact date is still unknown, this news suggests that the return of the survival horror classic is close.

Bloober Team is almost done with the game’s development, which means an announcement for the release date and the platforms are coming soon. Originally, the game was confirmed for PlayStation 5, with a likelihood of a PC release. It’s uncertain whether other platforms, like Xbox, will see a release after the PlayStation exclusivity period. According to a tweet that found it, we should hear of a release date soon.

The original Silent Hill 2 is highly praised as one of the greatest horror games ever created. In 2022, a remake project was revealed, aiming to faithfully reimagine the original’s terrifying story and psychological ambiance with updated visuals and gameplay suited for current platforms.

Konami, the company behind Silent Hill 2, has been slowly bringing back the horror game series, and the remake is a big part of that. This news is likely to get fans of the games pretty excited.

The financial data from Bloober Team’s 2023 annual report doesn’t give any direct insights into the release date of the Silent Hill 2 remake. Fans should keep an eye on official channels from Bloober Team and Konami for the release date announcement and specific platform information. The news that the game is nearing completion, however, suggests that the wait may soon be over for those eager to revisit the fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill.
