Sk8 the Infinity has revealed that the second season of the popular anime series, as well as an original video animation (OVA), are both on the way very soon.
Sk8 the Infinity is a Japanese original anime television series directed by Hiroko Utsumi and produced and animated by the Bones animation studio. The coming-of-age sports anime aired from January to April 2021. In January of 2021, a comedic manga spin-off was released online on the Young Ace Up manga website. In March of 2021, a manga version of the anime series started publishing on the BookLive! e-book store.
The story of SK8 the Infinity centers on Reki, a skateboarding enthusiast who is currently a sophomore in high school. At night, Reki goes to “S,” an illegal underground skateboard race in Okinawa. At this event, hard-core skateboarders in Okinawa gather in an abandoned mining area with highly dangerous race tracks. The group of skaters rival against each other in a race known as “beefs.”
Langa Hasegawa, a transfer student who is half Japanese and half Canadian, and Reki instantly become friends after meeting each other for the first time. Langa, in contrast to Reki, does not have any experience with skating, rather he has been snowboarding ever since he was a child in Canada.
With Langa desperate to earn money, Reki invited him to an “S” race. Although Langa has no previous experience with skateboarding, he finds himself drawn into the chaotic world of “S.” During his first race, Langa pulled a trump card that Reki, along with other skaters in “S,” would never imagine being instrumental in making him win the race.
Finally, the story of Reki and the colorful crew of skaters will be continued in a new season. As of now, there is no specific release date for the Sk8 the Infinity Season 2, and OVA. Nonetheless, fans may keep an eye out for any news and updates on the official website of Sk8 the Infinity.
