GameMill Entertainment and IguanaBee Studios’ upcoming action-adventure, Skull Island: Rise of Kong has been officially announced for an October 17th launch on PC Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Alongside this announcement is a new trailer, offering a sneak peek at some of the game’s exciting content.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong is based on Joe DeVito’s renowned Skull Island and Merian C. Cooper’s King Kong. In this thrilling third-person action-adventure game, players will take on the role of Kong and embark on a journey of vengeance as they fight to claim their rightful place as King of Skull Island.
Players will begin their journey as the orphaned Kong and experience his evolution to becoming the King of Skull Island and his hunt for revenge against the saurian terror Gaw. Embarking on this quest, players will explore diverse environments, including mountainous terrain, jungles, swamps, skullite-filled caves, and more, where they may discover collectibles, and new areas, and learn more about the mysterious history of this faraway land.
Throughout their journey, players will encounter Gaw’s ferocious minions. As players engage in combat, they will deal devastating combos and unleash their rage to heighten the impact of their attacks. Players may also execute Kong’s earth-shattering roar and brutal finishing attacks to send even the largest enemies into retreat. To unlock Kong’s full potential, players may take part in special events and intense boss fights, which grant new abilities upon completion.
GameMill Entertainment is offering Skull Island: Rise of Kong in standard and deluxe editions. The standard edition is priced at $39.99, while the digital deluxe “Colossal Edition” is available for $49.99. The deluxe edition includes exclusive features such as eight film grain options with a red-tinted rage mode and the original look of the classic 1933 and 1970s-era King Kong films, a Kong style pack with eight different color variations, a boss-rush mode, and a behind-the-scenes exclusive pack with in-game artwork and the all-original orchestral soundtrack.
