Publisher PQube has just announced its upcoming classic JRPG-inspired title, Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire.
Developed by Octeto Studios, Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire promises to deliver a captivating adventure and adrenaline-packed gameplay experience set in the open skies. Recently, PQube made an announcement in a new trailer, revealing that Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire will be available soon on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.
In Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire, players will take on the role of a captain and strive to unite a party of rag-tag sky pirates as they embark on an unforgettable, touching journey. Players will recruit their very own crew of Sky Pirates, each with their own diverse backgrounds, strengths, weaknesses, likes, and dislikes, and the captain will be responsible to keep them happy for bonus efficiency in battles. When interacting with characters, the player will have multiple dialogue options to choose from. The player’s choice will affect how the characters feel about them, so it is important to choose wisely.
As they clash with adversaries, players will engage in stylistic, strategic, turn-based combat, rendered with gorgeous, screen-popping UI elements. After long battles in the skies, players may gather resources and upgrade their airships as well as their team’s offensive and defensive power with extra weapons, reinforced equipment, and agility improvements. Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire also provides players with rewards for exploring the world, and players have the option to do so either by traveling on foot through bustling towns or by flying through the open skies on an airship.
Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire boasts stunning Studio Ghibli-inspired visuals, allowing for diverse environments and memorable character design. Adding to the immersive experience is its wonderfully composed original orchestral soundtrack.
As of now, there is still no specific release date announced for Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire, but you may add it to your Steam wishlist to be alerted when it becomes available.
