Along with the opening of the SMITE World Championship’s final phase, Hi-Rez presented a spectacular Year 10 Keynote with several major announcements for 2023 content coming to SMITE.
Among the most anticipated highlights of the announcement is the largest and most exciting crossover in the history of Magic: The Gathering and SMITE. During this period, the main mode in SMITE, Conquest, receives a brand-new map with updated graphics and layout, as well as new monsters, structures, and objectives. Moreover, Surtr, the legendary Fire Giant jungle boss, becomes a playable God. The Boss Monster Battle Pass as well as the new Ranked Rewards and the Year 10 Pass were also announced to arrive along with this update.

In the announcement video, Hi-Rez Studios expressed their excitement at welcoming Wizards of the Coast‘s Magic: The Gathering universe to the battleground of the Gods in SMITE. In this brand-new crossover, the legendary figures Chandra Nalaar, Jace Beleren, Liliana Vess, Karn, and Atraxa materialize as skins for legendary deities in SMITE.
With the second game update of 2023, five more Planeswalkers and creatures will be able to travel to this plane. There will be a total of 10 playable Magic: The Gathering skins, making this crossover the largest ever for SMITE. The event will also include free quests for all players and a variety of cosmetics, including the Power Nine loading frame and a level-up skin.
The iconic jungle monster of SMITE, the Fire Giant Surtr, will become the game’s newest playable God on January 24th. Surtr, a Warrior from the Nordic pantheon, will finally take vengeance on the gods who have spent more than a decade hunting him. Surtr is a natural force of destruction, chaotic yet poised and calculating. This playable Surtr is based on elements from the past decade of his encounters on Conquest including his fiery sword, AOE attacks, and his meteoric arrival on the map.
For the new Ranked Rewards, SMITE is bringing the Viking Invasion with Berserker Rama, which can be obtained by winning 75 Ranked games. The SMITE Year 10 Pass, which will be released on January 24th, was also revealed to be overflowing with content. The Year 10 Pass will unlock Unlimited Edition ‘Ascended’ skins, Tier 1 skins, emotes, and voice packs for every single God released throughout 2023. In addition, upon purchase of the Year 10 Pass, players will receive immediate access to Calamity Cat Sol skin and 1,000 Gems.
