Sony recently announced the upcoming release of a PlayStation 5 Final Fantasy XVI Bundle, which is set to launch on June 22. The bundle will include a PlayStation 5 console along with a download code for the highly anticipated Final Fantasy XVI game. North American gamers can expect the bundle to be available via PlayStation Direct, with pre-orders opening on May 4.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia also revealed several additional hardware bundles and accessories, including a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Final Fantasy XVI Bundle priced at 56,980 yen, a limited edition DualSense Wireless Controller featuring Final Fantasy XVI design for 8,980 yen, and a PlayStation 5 Cover with a Final Fantasy XVI limited edition theme for 7,980 yen.
These special edition products, which will be released in limited quantities, are set to launch on June 22 exclusively in Japan. Pre-orders for these items will begin on May 4 through PlayStation dealers and nationwide EC sites.
Final Fantasy XVI, included in the bundle, is the latest installment in the popular Japanese role-playing game series, boasting a unique world view and rich storyline. As the first full-fledged action RPG in the series, it follows the main character, Clive Rosfield, as he harnesses the power of various summoned beasts in the land of Vallisthere. The game also features a special in-game item, the Brave Heart sword, which is a replica of the weapon wielded by the Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy I.
The limited edition DualSense Wireless Controller features a subtle crystal pattern on the touchpad, painted in vibrant blue and metallic gold on a Midnight Black background. The specially designed PlayStation 5 cover showcases illustrations of the summoned beasts Phoenix and Ifrit from Final Fantasy XVI, adorned with a calming gold color.
At this time, it is uncertain if the additional bundles and accessories will be available in North America and Europe, or if any PlayStation 5 Final Fantasy XVI Bundle will be released in Europe.
Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 5 on June 22.
