A couple of clever and hilarious manga crossovers were created by Spy x Family fans in anticipation of the premiere of the most recent episode of the Shōnen anime. The manga crossovers quickly became famous among the fanbase and have been liked and shared on various platforms. The trend involves editing the adorable Anya Forger into manga panels from popular manga series such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man.
Anya Forger crossover in Shonen Manga series
Anya, one of the main characters of Spy x Family, was formerly known as Test Subject “007.” She is a telepath who gained power through an unknown organization’s experiment. As part of the Operation Strix mission, Anya was adopted by Twilight, a.ka. Loid Forger, to pretend as his daughter and attend the prestigious Eden Academy as a first-grade student. This was done in an effort to gather intel on Twilight’s current target, Donovan Desmond, the Chairman of the National Unity Party of Ostania, whose son also attends the Eden Academy.
Twitter account Johnny, took the spotlight with a Spy x Family-related post earning over 267 thousand likes. The Twitter post shows an edited manga crossover of Anya Forger and Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen approaching each other in what looks to be the beginning of a battle. Anya’s cuteness shines through with her stance and attitude while appearing significantly smaller than Satoru Gojo. The manga crossover also gave Anya the “Special Grade 1 Sorcerer” title, a pun based on Anya being a first-grade student in the Eden Academy.
Another Spy x Family manga crossover featured the same Anya Forger manga illustration, but this time, she appears in a manga panel from Chainsaw Man. In Twitter account Tomo‘s post, Chainsaw Man’s Denji is shown waiting for Anya at a cemetery and telling her that she’s late. The manga panel is originally from Chapter 93 of Chainsaw Man.
The Spy x Family crossover trend has been dominating and it follows another manga crossover of Anya in Demon Slayer manga panel. Since then, fans have continued to edit Anya in other manga series such as Naruto, One Piece, and Attack on Titan.
