The asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight has a history of crossovers with other horror franchises. Many of the game’s playable characters come from popular horror media, such as Left 4 Dead, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and more. Of all the franchises added to the game, Stranger Things is the only one to be removed from the Dead by Daylight store. However, DbD players should be seeing Stranger Things returning to the game soon.
When the Stranger Things expansion was removed from Dead By Daylight, players were devastated. Survivors such as Steve Harrington and Nancy Wheeler were made unavailable to purchase, meaning only players who already owned the expansion had the characters. This happened because the contract between Netflix and Behavior Interactive was canceled by Netflix, supposedly because a new Stranger Things game was being produced.
However, Netflix has once again contacted Behavior to discuss a continuation of their contract. Not only does this mean that existing Stranger Things characters will finally be returned to the Dead By Daylight shop, but the contract also discusses the addition of a brand new character. Vecna, the main antagonist of the newest Stranger Things season.
Returning the Stranger Things cast to Dead by Daylight is an incredibly exciting prospect for fans of both the series and the game. The survivors included in the original Dead by Daylight Stranger Things expansion are some of the most popular in the game, played frequently by fans who managed to buy the expansion before it was removed.
