Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, a highly anticipated release from Summerfall Studios, has had its release date shifted to August 10, 2023. This change was confirmed by the indie studio in a recent announcement, as it readies to release its first game title.

In the announcement from Summerfall Studios, “We’re moving our launch date to August 10th, 2023. We want everyone to have ample space to check out Stray Gods when it launches. Baldur’s Gate 3 is hotly anticipated (by us, too!) and we want to give our fans room to celebrate Stray Gods.” The studio further added, “We also want everyone to be able to play on their preferred device at launch. This extra week allows us to have performance parity as close as possible, across every platform.”

Stray Gods weaves the tale of Grace, a college dropout imbued with the power of a Muse, in a modern fantasy world. With the primary objective of discovering the truth behind her predecessor’s death, the player navigates Grace through this immersive, hand-illustrated roleplaying musical.

Authored by David Gaider, Stray Gods is more than just a journey of self-discovery and determination. According to the studio, “Your choices will change the endings, as well as the path you take to get there.” This element of choice extends into the game’s musical landscape, composed by Grammy-nominated composer Austin Wintory, Tripod, and Eurovision Australia’s own Montaigne (Jess Cerro). With thousands of potential variations based on player choices, the game promises a one-of-a-kind musical experience.

Furthermore, Stray Gods offers an opportunity to delve into a hidden world of Greek gods and monsters, reimagining their stories in a compelling narrative. Players get to meet and interact with a host of characters, each with their unique storyline, shaped by player choices.

Summerfall Studios ended their announcement on an optimistic note, expressing their eagerness to share this game with the world. “We’re so excited to share Stray Gods with you and we hope you’ll join us on August 10th to play and celebrate this game we’ve poured so much love into,” they said.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is available to be wishlisted on Steam.
