Vertical Reach and Armor Games Studios have collaborated with Super Rare Games to bring the physical version of the psychological horror game, The Tartarus Key, across Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. This exciting release is scheduled for October 12th, with a price tag of $36.64 USD for the Nintendo Switch version and $32.97 USD for the PlayStation 4 edition.

The limited run of The Tartarus Key physical edition will be available in a total of 4,000 copies through Super Rare Games’ website, with 3,000 units allocated for the Nintendo Switch and 1,000 for PS4. Each unit contains the game on a cartridge or PS4 disc, a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, with a Slipcover for the PS4 version, and trading cards exclusively available for the Switch version.

The Tartarus Key was originally launched digitally for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S in May 2023. It received generally favorable reviews, owing to its elaborate puzzles reminiscent of the “Saw” movie franchise. Despite its low-poly graphics, the game manages to deliver a haunting horror mystery experience.

Drawing heavy inspiration from classic horror games, The Tartarus Key offers an engrossing mystery filled with twists and turns. The story revolves around Alex Young, who awakens in a strange mansion where all the doors are locked by bizarre puzzles and traps and surveillance cameras track her every move. As Alex strives to escape this nightmare, along with the other captives she discovers, she will need to rely on her wits to navigate this adventure thriller.

In The Tartarus Key, players will help Alex Young in her quest to escape the deadly mansion and rescue her fellow captives. The game features three different endings, allowing players to delve deeper into the strange secrets the mansion holds. Players will solve puzzles and challenges reminiscent of escape-the-room games in a variety of unsettling and bizarre scenarios.
