The upcoming Tekken 8 is more than likely to be shown off during this year’s Game Awards, giving us a further look at the gameplay coming in the next-gen installment of the legendary fighting game series.

We know this thanks to Twitch streamer AvodingThePuddle, who tweeted out an image of some promotional merch he received from the Tekken team. Puddle’s box of swag included a t-shirt with the game’s logo on it as well as a card with the message “Tune in to the Game Awards Livestream!”

The message is clearly a nod that more of Tekken 8 will be shown during this year’s Game Awards. It also features a link to the official Twitch channel of the Game Awards and the date of the stream.

This will be the first footage of Tekken 8 since the game’s reveal during the Playstation State of Play in September.

The State of Play preview showed off the game’s amazing graphics, with an amazingly rendered cutscene transitioning directly into gameplay with no cutaways or sacrifice in visual quality.

Katsuhiro Harada, Game Director/Chief Producer of the Tekken series, had this to say about the game during its State of Play Livestream debut:

“We are very excited to show the next generation of Tekken. The team at Bandai Namco Studios has been hard at work to bring groundbreaking new features to Tekken 8, pushing the feeling of power in battles continuously further by harnessing the power of the latest generation of consoles. We can’t wait to show you more in the months to come.”
