Patch 1.4 is in its final stages of development for the popular online multiplayer game, Temtem. The build has been sent to the console platforms for review and, if approved, will be ready for publishing on the projected date of June 19th.
The new update promises the beginning of Season 4, dubbed ‘Splash up!’. As the name suggests, the season embodies the essence of summer, with its myriad pool parties, beach sunsets, and other relaxing activities. During this period, two special events will take place, including a Pride event that offers freebies, and another unannounced event to be revealed later. In a shift from previous norms, each season’s length will be extended by a month to give the development team more time to refine the game content. Thus, Season 4 will run from June 19th until September 25th.
Despite the exciting new features, there is one disappointment for players: the Arcade Bar feature has been postponed due to development challenges and unforeseen delays. While this might make Patch 1.4 less appealing to PvE players, the developers assure that each season attempts to balance PvE and PvP content. As such, Patch 1.4 will be more PvP oriented, with the Arcade Bar feature likely to appear in Patch 1.6 or 1.7.
One significant change introduced by Patch 1.4 involves the Dojo Wars, which have been a contentious topic within the community. Following player feedback, a series of adjustments will be made to the Dojo Wars, including making them a monthly rather than a weekly event. Other alterations include changes to the sign-up period, the King of the Hill system, matchmaking mechanics, timing of rounds, and the number of required players for Dojo Wars finals. Additionally, players will receive individual rewards for each match won during Dojo Wars, in addition to Club rewards. However, there will be no Dojo War in June, with the first one under the new system slated for the week of July 24-30.

Further aiding PvP players, especially those new to the competitive scene, the developers have introduced an automatic recommendation system and predefined builds in Showdown. The recommendation system suggests Tem options based on the player’s chosen team and changes its recommendations as the team composition evolves. The predefined builds are designed to cover the most common roles in Ranked matches and will be updated as the meta changes.
Additionally, Patch 1.4 brings changes to the rotating Premium Store, reducing the number of Premium item slots from three to two but doubling the daily item rotation from four to eight. Two of these items will be purchasable with Feathers. In response to community feedback, the update also includes an option to toggle the battle camera on and off.
The developers have announced a new initiative to support community-created events. A form has been provided for event organizers to request in-game items as prizes for their community-run events, with certain restrictions in place.
Finally, the developers have hinted at a surprise feature set to launch a week after Patch 1.4, aiming to expand Temtem, its user base, and its longevity. However, the details of this feature remain undisclosed until its expected reveal on June 27th. Despite the secrecy, the team believes that this new addition, while not as thrilling for existing players, represents a significant milestone for Temtem’s future growth.
