Terminator: Resistance, 2019’s first-person shooter from developer Teyon and publisher Reef Entertainment, will officially launch a Complete Edition on October 27th, 2023. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, including a copy of the game for X|S, Terminator: Resistance Annihilation Line, and Infiltrator Mode.
Terminator: Resistance is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One. Those who own Terminator: Resistance on Xbox One will be offered a discounted upgrade path. You can watch today’s Complete Edition trailer on the Xbox YouTube channel:
Terminator: Resistance smartly delves into the Future War era of the beloved mythology. It’s a potent setting that all fans hoped the film series would explore, and the devs make decent use out of its potential.
Terminator: Resistance is a fairly streamlined shooter, but the action, mood, and story are compelling enough to satisfy most fans of the franchise. The battle against Skynet includes a lot of fan service, with fun nods to the original two blockbusters.
But many fans agree that it isn’t just nostalgia bait. There’s an authentic fandom in this game. Its striking environments, dialogue, and stealth mechanics seem determined to recreate the gritty, desperate survival tone of the films.
The Complete Edition of this game will finally deliver Xbox fans a superior experience that’s akin to the PlayStation 5 Enhanced version. However, it’s been a long wait for next-gen Xbox users, so interest may have waned a bit.
Hopefully, the new edition can muster some serious visual improvements. After all, the graphics were always a low point for Terminator: Resistance, which often shows its budget. Even the Enhanced version wasn’t enough for some. Fans have simply overlooked all of that for the breezy and satisfying gameplay.
