Terror of Hemasaurus, the Kaiju-themed indie love letter to Rampage, has confirmed key release dates for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

A brief new trailer from publisher Digerati reveals that PlayStation fans will get the game on December 7th, and Xbox players on December 9th, 2022. While today’s trailer description still has the Switch set for “TBA”, the trailer teases that Terror of Hemasaurus will reach the Nintendo eShop on January 12th, 2023.

These dates are something of a slight delay, particularly for the Switch, which was originally expected next month alongside the other ports. It’s unclear what obstacles arose, but developer Loren Lemcke teased different console port launches for each system back in early October:

Terror of Hemasaurus is an addictive little nod to classic arcade games, including Rampage. It successfully walks that fine line between homage and plagiarism, by adding enough of its own personality and mechanics.

Terror of Hemasaurus has an amusingly coarse and edgy tone that fits modern audiences a little better, and Lomcke is even open to fan feedback. In fact, they recently announced that a new Kaiju, “Pangolin”, could be added to the game based on Discord suggestions:

The variety of Kaiju and their unique roles provide a lot of replay value, and the split screen experience is truly satisfying. In these days of AAA titles built for co-op gameplay, while demanding that each player purchase their own copy and console and subscription, the only refuge for longtime gamers is indie gems like this.

Although Loren Lomcke is still adding onto Terror of Hemasaurus, they’ve undoubtedly built a loyal fanbase and it’ll be genuinely thrilling to see what their next title could be.
