Fantasy RPGs are at their best when they give players immense power and set them loose on magical enemies, and the announcement trailer for Testament: The Order of High Humans shows just that. While the game currently has a demo available during the Steam Next Fest, Testament: TOHH has announced that it will be released in just under a month on July 13, 2023.
The developer made this announcement via a trailer, showing the fantastical abilities, upgrades, and enemy types that players can expect to find during their time in the world of Tessara. Developer Fairyship Games has stated that it’s got Metroidvania aspects in addition to the apparent RPG elements and magical combat.
This original story sees players taking on the role of the last guardian after the titular High Humans have fallen, forcing the Tessara into chaos and darkness. Players who are interested in this concept can check out the demo as part of the Steam Next Fest. It gives players more than an hour in Testament: TOHH, showcasing the basics of the world.
The protagonist, Aran, has been betrayed by his brother and had all his powers stolen from him. Throughout his journey, the character will need to regain his weapons and abilities while also developing their own fighting style by choosing from upgrade trees that are briefly shown in the announcement trailer. This plays into classic RPG elements and Aran can be seen using a few different impressive spells.
The game will feature hours of fun with over 40 quests in the game, which isn’t too bad for an indie game that also manages to have monsters that look as impressive as those in the trailer. Players can find the Testament Demo on Steam right now.
