Tetris Effect: Connected, developed by Monstars Inc., Resonair, and Stage Games, is a spectacular remake of one of the most popular puzzle games of all time. It is also an updated re-release of the 2018 Tetris Effect, adding a comprehensive multiplayer expansion, with all-new co-op and competitive online and local multiplayer modes. It features over 30 stages and 10 modes each with unique music, backgrounds, sounds, and special effects. Tetris Effect: Connected was initially released for PlayStation 4, Xbox consoles, and PC back in 2021.
Recently, publisher Enhanced Experience announced that Tetris Effect: Connected will finally get a PlayStation 5 release on February 22nd with PlayStation VR2 compatibility as part of the Winter 2023 update. According to the video, the PS VR2 release of Tetris Effect: Connected will also include an exclusive feature not accessible on other VR platforms, which enables users to use Eye Tracking to enter the Zone by closing and opening their eyes. There are also additional technical features added to the PS5 release such as Enhanced Haptic Feedback for DualSense, PS VR2 sense controllers, and the PS VR 2 headset itself in addition to 4K support. In addition, a Tate or vertical mode will be introduced to Nintendo Switch in the Winter 2023 update.
Apart from a PlayStation 5 release, this major update to Tetris Effect: Connected also comes with a variety of new Endless features that will be available for all existing platforms. Below are the new features that have been added:
- Classic Score Attack – A single-player version is now available in Effect Modes (NTSC/PAL Game Speed included)
- Zone Marathon – A version of Marathon Mode with the Zone mechanic
- Purify Mode – Endless is now an option in Purify Mode
- Master Mode – Endless is now an option in Master Mode
